He’s 72. He’s had more than 20 cars in his lifetime. Interestingly, he has never bought a brand new car. Until now. Donald’s tradition of buying used cars is over. With the bonus of the recent Scrappage Scheme, Donald has broken the mould by beginning his MINI adventure: investing in a brand new MINI JCW.
MINI and the government are offering £2,000 towards a new MINI as part of the Scrappage Scheme. Owners who scrap cars over ten years old will receive a £2,000 contribution towards the purchase of a brand new car. The idea is to cut CO2 levels by replacing older, more polluting vehicles with the latest fuel-efficient models.
Start the engine of a MINI John Cooper Works and the most raucous party erupts to celebrate 50 years of MINI’s association
with Cooper.
Dab the throttle and the throaty exhaust note increases along with your heartbeat, and the sound track’s just the beginning. The real fun begins on the road with its unbeatable handling, race-tuned 211 hp engine, aerodynamic kit and high performance braking system. It’s got the works, just as John Cooper would have wanted.
As standard, on the exterior, the MINI John Cooper Works has 17” Cross Spoke Challenge Alloy Wheels, Chrome details and John Cooper Works specials such as an aerodynamic kit, black radiator grills and a twin-scroll turbocharger. Optional extras include a panoramic glass sunroof system, Bi-Xenon headlights and bonnet stripes to name but a few. When it comes to the interior there are even more possibilities. With a John Cooper Works leather steering wheel, stainless steel covered pedals and front sports seats all as standard, it is no wonder that Donald chose to break his tradition of buying a used car and opted for a brand new MINI John Cooper Works. Feeling as sporty and robust as John Cooper would have wished, the JCW really does live up to the Cooper name in racing.
Let’s applaud Donald in his fine choice for a first new car.
